Cornerstone Community Farm
February 24 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
Community Food Collaborative’s mission is to transform community health, wealth, and vitality by reimagining our relationships to food and farming. In working towards our mission we focus on 3 key determinants of community health: environmental stewardship, economic development, and food and nutrition access. Cornerstone Community Farm is an economic and agricultural collaboration that supports neighborhood vitality through sustainable food production, job creation, and environmental stewardship. The farm is a living laboratory where education and entrepreneurial opportunity intersect to create proud young farmers, scholars and business leader.
Volunteers will assist with a variety of tasks, including: planting seasonal vegetables, maintaining and weeding garden beds and footpaths, pruning and trellising plants, keeping compost piles active and healthy, and harvesting produce and flowers. Most importantly, you can expect to have a lot of fun while working and learning.
Volunteers should dress for comfort and safety. Wear close-toed shoes, long pants and sleeves as appropriate, and sunscreen.
